Just 10 in Luton — Prayer & Hearing
from God

Just 10 in Luton

Just Ten Prayer Meetings

This is how people may have heard God’s voice when we have taken time to listen in the prayer meetings.

1. God is bringing renewal in Luton. (Isaiah 62:1)

  • "The harvest is coming" – picture of a large golden sheaf.
  • The Lord has placed a golden crown with jewels upon the town of Luton. It can be seen by everyone in Luton but also by people from a distance. Everyone is talking about the crown that belongs to the King of Kings.
  • God is opening a door. (Revelation 3:7-9)
  • God is giving the breath of life to dry bones.
  • A big dead tree is sprouting new green shoots. The tree lives again.
  • An anorexic bride is being nourished by the Bridegroom.

2. Just Ten is just a part of an ongoing work.

  • A picture of ever widening ripples as when a stone is dropped in the water...
  • "Pull up the root of despair"

3. The gift of unity to the mission must continue.

  • God rejoices in the unity of the Church of Luton because His heart is for the lost.
  • Revival comes with joy.
  • 20 years ago God spoke a word to the churches in Luton through Colin Urquhart saying those who refused to forsake traditional ways would become irrelevant.
  • There is a need to abandon the competitive spirit, trying to be the biggest, wisest, richest (Jeremiah 9:23&24). Time to work together. Echoes of the children of Israel entering the Promised Land but tribes not allowed to abandon the battle until all the territory had been taken.
  • Picture of a shepherd failing to bring the lost sheep into the fold until other shepherds joined in and they worked together.

4. A greater response from His people is asked for (a picture of an Easter egg and the call to chew it, to take action, taste and see…)

  • A call for labourers. ‘The harvest is plentiful...’
  • Seek first His Kingdom.
  • Live saintly lives.
  • There is a need to live differently.
  • A call to witness & seek the peace of the city where I have called you to be. (Jeremiah 29:7)
  • Beware of pride.
  • A call to repentance; "I felt the importance of asking for mercy for a people, a nation, who have largely rejected God’s ways & wisdom. God has invested so much of His Spirit into the UK and yet people have rejected His morals, ways & judgements and hardened their hearts. Important to pray for those in Luton who have no interest in the mission and for those who will come along for God to have mercy on people and send His Spirit to change them and bring them to repentance."

5. God is promising protection in the face of opposition. (The gates of hell will not prevail)

  • Daniel in lions’ den. Daniel was honest and faithful. God showed His power in a seemingly hopeless situation.
  • Psalm 74:4 – there are enemies, roaring.
  • Psalm 2:6 He has installed the King on the Holy Hill.
  • What is loathsome is cast into the lake of fire.
  • There is a religious spirit over the Church of Luton stopping people moving out.
  • Call to spiritual warfare.

6. People from all over the world are praying for Luton.
